Specialized Anxiety Therapy
When “Keeping It Together” is Exhausting
From the outside, you are navigating life with ease. You’re organized, dependable, and high-achieving. But inside, it is a different story. You live with a constant internal dialogue of anxiety producing thoughts. These thoughts may keep you up in the middle of the night or come in the form of having tension in your chest that never goes away. This is called high-functioning anxiety, and while it helps drive you to success, it is also affecting how you feel on a daily basis.
Anxiety doesn't always look like a panic attack, it can show up in a more subtle persistent way.
Perfectionism: you fear mistakes so you over prepare, overthink, and are unable to delegate.
Unable to Make Decisions: You feel overwhelmed due to believing that there are wrong decisions that you can not overcome.
The Inability to Relax: Your brain is always racing; looking for the next problem to ruminate.
Physical Warning Signs: Chronic headaches, tight chest, digestive issues, feeling irritable with the people you love most or an unsettling feeling.
If this sounds like your reality; you don’t have to live with this intensity level.
My Approach to Anxiety Treatment
1.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is an evidence based treatment to address feelings of anxiety. We will work together to identify thoughts that contribute to being in a constant state of anxiety. You will learn to challenge emotional based thoughts such as all-or-none or worst case scenario thinking to evidence based thoughts which will lower the intensity of the anxiety.
2.
Solution-Focused Strategies
While understanding your past is important, my approach focuses on your present. We will build a “toolbox” of techniques and coping strategies that you can use when the intensity of anxiety peeks. You will have a plan of action.
3.
A Systems Perpective
Your anxiety is also influenced by your environment such as your career and your family life. I help you understand patterns that increase anxious feelings so we can together set healthier boundaries to alleviate the constant anxious thoughts.

What if I’m not sure if my anxiety is “bad enough” for therapy?
If anxiety is taking up more than its fair share of mental energy, it is considered “bad enough”. You deserve support at any level of anxiety you are not feeling comfortable managing. You have a general feeling that you feel like you are not the best version of yourself.
How often do I come in?
You make your own schedule. It can range from weekly sessions to monthly. A lot of work is done outside the session with implementing the tools that were learned in the session.
